Carbon-free energy
The Aston Campus sets a new standard on the path toward a clean energy grid.

Accelerated carbon-free energy
As we accelerate the transition to carbon-free energy for the global supply chain, we consider the role we have as a partner to the communities in which we live, work, and operate.
We have established the Aston Campus Charter to codify our commitments around energy, water, biodiversity, and communities.
The Aston Campus Charter ensures alignment with our partners on our operating principles.
The Aston Campus Charter
Sustainable energy supply
Maximizing clean energy
Sustainable water supply
Ensuring water for everyone
Sustainable biodiversity
Support biodiversity and local environments
Sustainable communities
Considering local communities and acting as a partner
Supply
- Geothermal
- Solar
- Batteries
- SMR
- Wind
Demand
- Data centers
- Dry warehouse
- Cold storage
- EV Charging
- Green Fuels
In addition to local generation, Aston campuses also can be built for future connection to the North American Power Grid for advantages of additional future supply and backup service benefits.
But because campuses are capable of standalone operation independent of the grid, the timeline to begin operations is years faster than if grid interconnection were required.

Aston Campuses are capable of standalone operation independent of the grid. The timeline to begin operations is years faster than if grid interconnection were required.
Each campus is modular and self contained, meaning it can operate fully without relying on either connection or changes to the existing power grid.
